Company officials announced what was expected to be a temporary shutdown in January, stating at that time that they would reopen when back-ordered parts arrived.

The city of Vernon application for the Rhodia expansion project reached the final verification stage for funding, according to Business Development Corporation President/CEO Sean Stockard.

Linda Stewart/Special to the Times Record News Cutlines:Rhodia, a local guar derivative production company in Vernon, will undergo a $20 million to $25 million expansion project, thanks to an incentive package offered by the Vernon Business Development Corporation and local taxing entities.

Vernon city officials told us the plant closed down unexpectedly and their trying to figure out what happened.
