Crash knocks out power for 1,000
The Marion County Sheriff's Office received a call about the crash at the intersection of Shaff Road and West Stayton Road SE, south of Aumsville, at 10:57 p.m. When first responders arrived, they found the driver had hit a sign pointing the way to Aumsville and Stayton before crashing into the power pole, said Deputy Jacob Thompson.

Santiam students enjoy the prom
It was night of pink balloons, streamers, cupcakes and cookies, S'mores and candles in Mason jars, it was the 2013 Santiam High School prom, which was held with a theme of "Footloose." In keeping with the theme, many students eschewed gowns and tuxes and showed up in Carharts work clothes, cowboy hats and boots.
