Pipe bomb trial opens with testimony from Montana troopers
The trial of a Virginia man suspected of detonating seven pipe bombs thrown at Montana law enforcement opened Wednesday morning with opening statements and testimony from two Montana Highway Patrol troopers who were involved in the initial traffic stop of Laurence Alan Stewart II.
Jury selection done in pipe-bomb trial
A 12-person jury was chosen Tuesday evening after a two-day process as the prosecution and defense sifted through nearly 100 people to decide the case of a Virginia man who faces seven counts of attempting to kill a law enforcement officer after he allegedly threw pipe bombs at patrol cars during a highway chase last fall.
