National Guard opens doors to community
Several members of the California Army National Guard attempted to pull on 60 pounds of firefighting gear Saturday morning at the armory in what the Porterville Fire Department calls the "two-minute drill."
Individual awards were as follows: Open Sight: Junior Division 1st Place Alex Avila, Prairie Center 4-H; 2nd Place Isabella Brown, Elbow Creek 4-H; 3rd Place Austin Schotanus, St. Aloysius 4-H; 4th Place Scott McCullough, Springville 4-H; 5th Place Mason Berry, Exeter 4-H.
