Dr. Robert Marbut, a well-known homeless expert, has spent Thursday visiting different homeless facilities and meeting with city and county officials and residents on concerns regarding the homeless.

The meeting with Robert Marbut, author of "The Seven Guiding Principles of Transformation," which describes best practices for addressing homelessness, is scheduled for 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, 32 W. Sixth St.

Since it was created in June, the city's Community Resource Center Task Force has met regularly, but those meetings aren't always preceded with public notices.

Those who plan to run for most municipal offices in 2012 have a few weeks left to get supporters behind their campaigns if they plan to submit signatures to avoid paying filing fees.
