Lexington 2 to hold property taxes steady

Lexington District 2 plans no tax increase for the coming budget year. The district's board of trustees was scheduled to meet tonight to give first reading approval to the almost $66 million 2013-14 budget.

Combat medic honored for saving soldiers' lives

Forty-six years after his heroic act, a Vietnam veteran will be honored May 1. Congressman Joe Wilson, R-Springdale, will present Vietnam veteran Joseph N. Tate of Elgin with the Silver Star, one of our country's highest military honors, at noon at the West Columbia National Guard Armory, 3528 Platt Springs Road.
