Fire destroys Turnin' Point building that was formerly Kent-Moore Tool Group on S. Jackson Street

Firefighters battle a blaze at 1501 S. Jackson St. on Monday night. Firefighters worked late Monday night to extinguish a large blaze that destroyed a former manufacturing plant and managed to keep the fire from spreading to nearby homes.

Spring Arbor University's new dorm to be done by July 1

Construction of a new residence hall at Spring Arbor University has been put on the fast track for completion by July 1. The university has begun work on the site and plans to hold a groundbreaking ceremony Friday for the new 53,000-square-foot facility, said Jerry White, vice president for finance and administration.
