A magnitude 2.5 earthquake was recorded this afternoon north of Reno. The quake occurred about 4:06 p.m. The Nevada Seismological Laboratory puts the epicenter about 8 miles northeast of Spanish Springs and 13 miles northeast of Sun Valley.
