A man was found shot dead in a front yard on the South Side Bronzeville neighborhood early this morning, police said.

A man was shot in the buttocks late Saturday on the South Side, police said. At 10:23 p.m., the 25-year-old man was shot in the 4800 block of South Drexel Boulevard in the Bronzeville neighborhood, according to district police.

After fatally stabbing a man on New Year's Eve, Marcus Byrd told police the victim "said something smart - and he only stabbed him once," prosecutors said.

UPDATE: Police have identified the woman who was shot and killed early Monday morning on the city's southeast side.
