In the Cayuga County town of Conquest Monday, some residents were calling their good fortune luck, but perhaps divine intervention had something to do with the family of Glen Horst surviving Sunday's violent thunder and windstorm unharmed.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Department reported that a tornado touched the ground and caused damage in Savannah and Butler Sunday afternoon.

Crews from the National Weather Service will be in Wayne County on Monday to determine if a tornado touched down in South Butler in the area of Taylor Road and Drabel Road.

A trained weather spotter says there is damage from a possible tornado touchdown Sunday afternoon in Wayne COunty.

Both engineers and code enforcement officers had checked out the building prior to Sunday morninga s controlled burn.
