An apparent shortage of natural foods has brought a number of black bears into Tower and Soudan in recent weeks, and has left one radio-collared bear dead of a gunshot wound.

Halted for more than a year because of a fire, tours of Soudan Underground Mine State Park in northern Minnesota are scheduled to resume Saturday, state officials announced.
