If you can find goat at your market, the prime meat is from a very young goat - often referred to as "baby goat" Goat is often found at the ethnic markets plus the old Mom and Pops "Fresh Fields Farms store off of Delaney and south of Michigan. "Mature" Goat is very tough meat and has to be cooked a long time to be edible. We curry it and it has to go on the stove early in the afternoon to be ready by dinnertime.

I love curried goat myself but it DOES get a bit fragrant while it's cooking. I live in a small apartment building, so out of respect for my neighbors, I go out to eat curried goat, I don't stink up the building with it (smile).

This is the sickest comment I've ever seen. Obviously written by someone from a 3rd world country that has no concern for killing baby goats so he doesn't have to chew so hard. My mother raised us NOT to eat "kind hearted" animals like veal, lamb, deer, and now dare I say, goat. Eating a goat in my eyes is like eating a dog. While some cultures eat dog and have no problems with it, eating a sweet, loving and trusting animal is BAD karma. It's just plain nasty and just plain mean. I'll stick to pigs, chicken, turkey, and beef, thanks.
