An 81-year-old Somerville man died Thursday afternoon after losing control of his truck on State Highway 36 in Burleson County.

For the second time this month, a rare event became less rare as severe storms raced across town, dumping heavy rain and dropping funnels that made several tornado touchdowns.

The magnitude of the early morning storm has many residents in Washington and Burleson counties questioning whether a tornado swept through their area.

Fed up and filing suit -- A coalition of school districts across the state who are educating more than three million Texas children have launched a wave of law suits against the state over school funding.

Through funds raised in its gift shop, Sunshine Auxiliary volunteers also have provided 100 health-care scholarships totaling more than $100,000 over the past 10 years.
