Carson City The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court: A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Nevada and 10th streets on suspicion of misdemeanor probation violation.

District to start naming process for new Fernley school
The Lyon County School District is expected to start next month with the process of naming the new intermediate school that is under construction.
Lyon Commissioner retreat called successful
Those involved in last week's Lyon County Board of Commissioners workshop retreat in Smith Valley felt that it was both succuessful and gave them a good chance to talk freely.

Lyon County Sheriff's deputies can continue to use their shooting range facility near 9th Street in Silver Springs, despite protests from a handful of nearby residents, and after the Lyon County Board of Commissioners voted at its October 15 meeting to allow the Sheriff's Department to continue to use the facility.
