SHULLSBURG -- The Lafayette County Sheriff's Department says one person was killed in a crash between a vehicle and a semi.

Tom Maulson, LdF tribal president, and six other members of the tribal council, met with the Shullsburg Common Council and the city's Gaming/Citizen Advisory Committee to rekindle a proposal that would bring an off-reservation casino to Shullsburg.

Rebecca L. Cushman, 21, was in a vehicle with Kyle L. Monahan, 21, of Shullsburg, Wis., when it left a Lafayette County road, traveled some distance, and hit a creek embankment before rolling over just before 8 p.m. Saturday, the website Channel3000.com said.

The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office said it received a report of a serious crash at about 8 p.m. on Dunbarton Road, about a mile east of Shullsburg near the intersection of Lavery Road.
