Swimmer airlifted after wave knockdown

A 46-year-old Mountainside woman was airlifted to AtlantiCare Medical Center with a possible spinal injury after being knocked over by a large wave at approximately 1:44 p.m. Kelly Waters was reportedly swimming in the area of East 44th Street in the ocean when a large wave knocked her down, resulting in a possible spinal injury, police said.
