Power outages on east side of Mount Pleasant restored

Power has been restored to 2,800 Mount Pleasant residents as of 3:11 p.m. A vehicle struck a pole on Federal Road in Shepherd around 2:26 p.m. and left customers without power for approximately 45 minutes, said Consumers Energy spokeswoman Mary Gust.

State police from the Mt. Pleasant Post arrested a 28-year-old Shepherd man for allegedly providing alcohol to underage girls and having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old female "on multiple occasions." Magistrate Sandra Straus will arraign the man by 2:30 p.m. today and he is being held in Isabella County Jail.
