SOMERS - A fire that started in the basement of a Moore Drive home Wednesday morning caused extensive smoke damage throughout the house, although most of the fire damage was limited to the basement, Somers Fire Chief John Meeker said.

SOMERS - In an apparent case of a teenage crush gone too far, a Shenorock boy faces charges after he repeatedly tried to break into the neighboring house of a teenage girl with whom he was infatuated, state police said.

Marina Drive: Ryan Biddle, 21, of Mahopac was charged around 10 a.m. July 28 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and the following infractions: being an unlicensed driver, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and operating a vehicle without a proper license class endorsement.
