Forest Service proposes changes to recreation sites
The U.S. Forest Service is examining recreation sites in the Bighorn National Forest after public meetings held this week to gather public input on the proposed changes, which involve the closure of some sites, but there are few changes slated for recreation sites near Lovell.
The five-year plan is designed to reduce deferred maintenance costs at the recreation sites and though it may cost some money up front, it will save the Forest Service money in the long run, Medicine Wheel/Paintrock District Ranger Dave Sisk said at Lovell's informative open house Monday. Read more
