Sedalian arrested on multiple drug charges

On Sept. 9, 2014 at approximately 10:02 p.m., detectives with the Sedalia Police Department's Drug Enforcement Unit and Criminal Investigations Bureau, along with Patrol Officers with the Sedalia Police Department, executed a drug-related search warrant at 408 East 6th Street.

On Sept. 12, 2014 at approximately 5:47 a.m., detectives with the Sedalia Police Department's Drug Enforcement Unit, along with Patrol Officers and a K9 Unit with the Sedalia Police Department, executed a no-knock, drug-related search warrant at 1501 East 9th Street.

Senior facility announces 60-bed expansion

Sedalia will soon have an additional senior care facility, as Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center officials have announced a 60-bed expansion likely to begin before the end of the year. The expansion was announced by Mayor Steve Galliher and former state Sen. Jim Mathewson during a news conference Thursday afternoon at the center.
