When Jayne Tuetken rolled into work on Monday morning, she had already heard about a string of break-ins. "I already knew about three of the other ones before I came in," said Tuetken.

A slice of eastern Iowa history is on the auction block this week as items and properties owned by the Balster family, which for decades sold just about anything anyone might want at their sprawling business in Scotch Grove, are sold off.

Scotch Grove, Iowa is for sale. The Balster family bought up the entire business district, which is most of the town, in 1912.

Authorities say a construction worker has been injured after falling about 45 feet at a construction site in Des Moines.
