Widespread areas of heavy rain were forecast Thursday from the Lower Mississippi Valley through the Upper Midwest. Powerful thunderstorms were likely across a region extending from eastern Texas through western Missouri.
Rain and high elevation snow were forecast from the Cascades to the northern Rockies as a trough of low pressure moves into the region.
Clear skies were anticipated along most of the eastern seaboard, though some isolated showers were forecast for parts of the Southeast. Read more
