Fatal shooting part of ongoing conflict

I don't know who's putting up th B.S. comments about Jim Goff, but I can tell you this. He was a better man than any man out there. Yeah, he's been in trouble but who hasn't. For such a "great little town", you all so corrupt. Get the complete & final truth before you start running your mouth...Oh, I forgot it won't matter becaues you all are so corrupt. If your not born there then your a stranger, & if you weren't born into $ then you aren't crap either.

Jim was a dirtbag that won't be missed by many. This may be a make or break case for the future of Pulaski Co. to show that you don't go to people's homes unless your invited.

It won't make one iota of difference to the redneck subculture of this area. They'll just keep on being the yee-haw jackasses they have always been. With any luck, they'll kill each other off eventually.

I am not taking any sides here. What I don't understand is I thought that it was considered self defense only if that was your only way to protect your self from death. Now to my understanding Jim had a bat, and then Josh ran inside of his home and got a gun, why not call the police while he was in there? I think it is tragic that a young father lost his life over a fight. In the media you are hearing about how Jim was a druggie and he was this and that but why not talk about the fact that Josh Pyles was one of his buddies doing the same thing but I guess you won't hear that one because right now he is the victim however I feel there are several victims including Jim Goff.

Like I posted in another thread regarding this, no matter what kind of people he was or was not, he was somebodys father..son etc and someone will is heart broken over his death and I am sure his kids thought he was a good dad

Ok so I dont know who on here is defending bunn goff but obviously you did not know him. He was never a father to those 4 kids. The two that live in Somerset only got to know him when he got out of jail last october. He had been in there for 5 years. As far as Josh Pyles goes he had 3 kids in his house when he got the gun and he was watching Heather beat the crap out of his girlfriend with a metal pipe. Im pretty sure I would have done the same thing. Bunn Goff was a big druggie who has never done anything with his life but steal off of others. He even stole off of Heather's aunt who raised his youngest daughter while he was in jail. Not saying that someone deserves to die but you dont go out to fight someone with 4 other people with you and not expect trouble.

I am not defending anyone.....I dont know him in the slightest. I am just saying before we trash a dead person, try to be sensitive to the fact that someone or someones loved this person and I am sure they are grieving

I saw it all unfold. I personally know Joshua Pyles a family man who loved his family. ANy good man who was fearing for his families lives would have done the same

Exactly. And to whoever said "Why not call the Police why you're in there?" Well, I'd probably grab a gun and go defend my girl rather than wait on the Police to get there and have my girlfriend and myself(He had two or three other guys with him) be beaten to a pulp.

Well I dont know Bunn very well, and have not seen Josh in years but I have heard Bunn was just a trouble maker and seems on this day he went lookin in the wrong place, I know Joshes family and they have always spoken highly of Josh, and it is said that he loves those children more than anything. And it is said that Bunn was never a part of his kids lives and was a lousy father, I think he should have learned something from all that jail time. God bless his children, but maybe someone will see the good that could come from this and teach those children how to have a decent life so they are not subjected to the same lifestyle their father was.

Was this wonderful family man Josh Pyles friends with Bunn? If so would it not be safe to assume that the old saying birds of a feather flock together would be applied to this story? I know the Pyles family too his sister conned some old preacher into thinking her youngest bastard child is his and takes his money, Josh is a freakin druggie and a prick as well. i don't think Bunn was a wonderful dad he was a fuck up we all agree however no one wins in this situation.

1 this is a sad situation but Pyles was completly in the right for defending himself and his family, being in Science hill there is no telling how long it would have taken for police to get there. The Goffs went looking for trouble and they found it, so it is thier own fault for what happened to thier family, if they were such fanily people why weren't they home at with thier familys instead of out drinkn and fightn. I knew heather 10 years ago and she used to be pretty but drugs have done a real number on her she looks bad with no teeth. just say no to meth.

Didn't the paper say that the Goff's had been in trouble just days before for going to this guys house and causing trouble? Well it appears that Pyles must have called the police that time. Then days later Goff came back. So why bother calling the police again? I hate to see anyone killed, but when you go to someone's house asking for it, sooner or later someone is gonna give you what you're asking for. I would have shot him had he came to my house causing trouble with his little gang of merry thugs.

If someone is beating your husband with a lead pipe, are you gonna take time to look for the ideal place to shoot them, so as not to kill them? I bet you wouldn't. And I'll bet he WILL NOT ne charged with murder either. There was a past history of Goff coming to his house causing trouble. I bet he gets NOTHING. And that's what he deserves. It's about time someone let our community know that we will not take harassment and violence in our own back yards.
