Woman dies after alleged abduction
An 83-year-old woman whose son allegedly kidnapped her, still attached to a medical device, from a Schuylkill County nursing home this week has died.
A lawyer for the son said he only wanted ''to care for'' his seriously ill mother and ''was looking out for her best interests.''
Police said Friday that Ruth Netchel had died, but did not release details on precisely when or where. She had been taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville, after police said they found her at the home of Robert Netchel, 58, of Route 61, Mount Carmel, Northumberland County.
