Residents still argue against chicken plant
By KEN MURCHISON The opposition to a proposed chicken processing plant in Nash County continued Monday as three people, including the mayor of a small Wilson County town, spoke against the idea at the monthly board of commissioners meeting.
Suspected burglars hide out 1,000 feet from crime scene
Two men suspected of attempting to break into the home of one Kinston woman did not even make it 1,000 feet from the crime scene before patrol officers with the Kinston Department of Public Safety arrested them.
Police seek leads in woman's disappearance
Rocky Mount police are assisting the Wilson County Sheriff's Office in the search for Shamerah Davell Ward, who was last seen in the parking lot of Wal-Mart and the area of Goldrock on Tuesday with a man named Marcey or Marcellus.
