CHP officer killed in fiery crash is laid to rest

A California Highway Patrol officer who was killed in a fiery crash in Santee is now in his final resting place.

The news link says that he called 911 saying that the gas pedal of the vehicle was stuck. Too bad hindsight is 20/20. I wish he would have shifted the vehicle into neutral to prevent acceleration, then applied the brakes steadily, while keeping a good grip on the steering wheel. This can be done within seconds, much less time then to call for help on a cell phone. It is tragic, and for those first 2 people who made such cruel statements, please re-think them. At least diana of Kentucky has some sympathy, but she is fighting fire with fire, which is not good. Anyway, I hope there is some more positive feedback.
