Alexander R. Seamon, first lieutenant from Deming, New Mexico, showed extraordinary courage which won him the Distinguished Service Cross medal on September 26, 1918 at the Meuse-Argonne Offensive near Charpentry, France but died a little while after his act while in another charge.
