11 seek seats on tourism panel
The list of people angling for seats on the Florida Commission on Tourism, which controls the state's marketing agency Visit Florida, is swelling.
Eleven people have now thrown their names into the mix for five seats coming open soon on the 35-member tourism commission. Florida Gov. Charlie Crist will make the appointments.
A review of applicants to the Governor's Office shows the list includes hoteliers, aquarium executives, a lobbyist representing Seminole County and the city of Sanford, and everyone from the president of the company that owns Beef O'Brady's sports pubs to the owner of the Bikini Beach Motel in Panama City.
