Similar in a lesser degree. Anyways. When I asked you the question of what group of people are oppressed, I was not just talking about within this debate. I'm talking about globally, I'm just quite curious to see what one would say is to who or what group is considered to be the most oppressed. And no, I do not believe that African Americans are the most oppressed group globally. Slavery happened to every race imaginable in one way or another by other "owners," etc. It just happened in different ways to different people.(No, I'm not claiming anything with sexuality at this point)
If you mean globally...then I would have to say that "mankind' is the most oppressed...as we are failures for not making this a better world to live in.

<quoted text>Discrimination is discrimination, no matter who its against, no matter how large it is, discrimination is wrong regardless. That is what is being said. And people who have been discriminated against should know better than to discriminate against others for trivial reasons.
This is true. But homosexuals are simply WRONG for comparing themselves to examples of discrimination that are just not comparable to their cause.

Gays should have all the legal rights a legal citizen has.

The problem is ----

If all straight men and women got together and decided to call their union a "Thiget" then Gays would no longer want to call their union a marriage, they would want to call it a "Thiget".

Maybe if all us straights decided to call ourselves Gay, it would take their minds off the marriage issue.

<quoted text>Sexual orientation is not a trait that should be discriminated against. Sexual orientation is an inherent trait. Gay/lesbian citizens are legal citizens and all legal citizens require equal rights. Skin color, sexual orientation, gender, religion, these are all things that should never be discriminated against.
Maybe this will make more sense to you.....

The assertion that homosexuality is an innate or inherent quality demands that genetic condition be present. Somewhere within the double helix must be programing that determines one's desire or need to mate with the same sex. If so, the genes have a mutation. In homo sapiens, the survival of the species relies upon the fertility of its members as to procreate--an action exclusively between a fertile male and a fertile female. If one possesses a mutation of his genes (the parents being heterosexual) such that he is homosexual, his attempts at procreation with another subject of the same species with the same gender (fertile or infertile) will prove ineffective. The genetic mutation will end with the death of said homosexual.

In a marriage between two men, the bride should always wear brown in honor of the brown starfish.
