The deputy chief ought to be fired and the whole lot of them should be put in jail. A man in his position shouldn't be in charge. He doesn't set a good example for his department and shows he can not be trusted. He acted as if he was above the law. If he were a police officer, he would have been placed on unpaid leave and most likely fired as it should be. His department apparently doesn't think it's such a big deal. I guess the Los Angeles Fire Department thinks it's ok to lie to the police and obstruct a criminal investigation to get your son out of trouble. I should have been a fireman for LA.

Sounds like the Kennedys are working for the LAFD!

Must have had Mercury Insurance. Does not cover a driver for whatever vehicle he/she drives. It still does not excuse lying to the police about who was behind the wheel and definitely does not excuse a hit and run EVER. Be careful that you know and understand that with Mercury Insurance that ONE driver is covered to drive in ONE vehicle only. Thus the reason they probably mixed their story up some.

Yes, they had Mercury, but the son was driving his own truck. There must have been some other reason they didn't want the police to interview him at 2am after running a stop sign and rolling his vehicle. Hmmm...
