Noise, permit concerns raised at Buddhist site

Prompted by complaints from area residents, county officials have ordered a halt to construction work and oak tree removal without permits at the national headquarters of a Buddhist foundation. via Pasadena Star-News

Assistant City Manager Stevens says "they generally seem to be very cooperative.", but they wouldn't allow an inspector on their site?? Sounds pretty fishy to me.

Also, I live within sight & sound of their property and the construction vehicles are going strong at 9am on a Sunday. The have totally disregarded their stop work order. They must think that they can do whatever they want and that their $$ will buy them out of any trouble. I hope they learn that here that isn't the case... and I hope they learn that quickly.

Buddhists are the most or are supposed to be unantagonistic. The ego antagonises, nobody likes that.
