SAN DIEGO - Six uniformed San Diego police officers and a San Diego County probation officer were legally justified in fatally shooting a shotgun-wielding petty criminal less than an hour after he ambushed and killed a San Diego police officer in City Heights last August, according to District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis.

A 22-year-old man was being treated Monday after he was shot in the foot in the Skyline area by a gunman who rolled up in a car and fired several rounds, police said.

After deliberating five days, a jury found Tamoyia Morris, 35, guilty of murder and attempted murder in the 1995 shooting, but was unable to reach verdicts on charges related to a 2005 home-invasion incident in Valencia Park that left two people dead.
