Dog deaths under investigation
County Humane Agent Jan Palmer and Lt. Andy Sweeney of the Columbiana County Sheriff's Department Detective Bureau spent most of Friday tracking down leads to find out who stabbed and shot two dogs, leaving the bodies in Jefferson County.

Ashley Cowan, state Route 46, New Waterford, reported at 8:04 a.m. Wednesday she noticed her screen to her kitchen window had been removed and was leaning against her home.
