1 I just knew someone was going to mention this, but we've been using BTK to refer to Billy the Kid for at least 40 years now. People in Ruidoso know what you mean when you say "BTK," and it sure as heck ain't "bind (not bite), torture, kill." And wasn't the BTK killer caught in Kansas? Not Washington State. Different guy from the Green River Killer. |

1 It is unfortunate that a sick and tortured soul had also chosen the initials "BTK" to describe himself (Dennis Rader, the killer from Kansas). But honestly, if we're talking about it, wasn't Billy The Kid just a hired gun (assassin)? While he may not fit the clinical definition of a serial killer, he surely spilled his share of blood (innocent and otherwise). So perhaps the appellation fits. The folks at the Tourism Board might do themselves a favor (disservice?) by adding an entry to this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BTK |

Family, You are right I am not directly an editor for this site, but my finger is on the button for direct contact with the editor --I do work for Ruidoso News and so does the man that will remove your post. So ZERO CONTROL is not quite accurate.

1 If this was 19th century Lincoln County he wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes. They wouldn't even have bothered to even bury him. |

You are so right. We have the technology to prove or disprove most claims, but those that are the most rabid about their claims won't let anyone look. Everyone knows that the Tunstall family, out of gratitude for Billy's help during the Lincoln County war, brought him to England where he died of old age and is buried in a cemetery with a gravestone bearing his name. Never mind that grave in Mexico and the other one in Texas. Now we have one in the basement of a church in Mo. but the family doesn't want anyone to know so they aren't telling anyone because Billy would want it that way. Don't even ask me how I know such a well kept secret. |

Not to go off topic but this is what I mean. People from far away look at this blog. The previous post is from Florida. A couple of bad apples on this blog give an unfair impression of the people in Lincoln County. So to everyone reading this, some of these outrageous post are a very small part of what really goes on here. Don't think we are all a bunch of hicks. We are not.

who else have you got buried in the basement up there in church basement in Oklahoma? Sounds more like a house of a serial killer then the house of the Lord...just what kind of church is this we are taking about? The church of the dead bandit?

1 (What you said makes no sense what so ever. the reason for going the route I did was because even our highest quality federal lab don't have the same technology, plus being something of this importance, do you think they would keep their mouths shut about the finding or do you think it would leak out and every tom dick an harry in history land would know the truth. I just couldn't take that chance. so i opted for the privacy of an out of country facility. LMAO @ Chip. Why don't you stick with the same name dude, you want us to think you have friends??? Hey Dolly, who said this? you said "Now we have one in the basement of a church in Missouri. But the family doesn't want anyone to know so they aren't telling anyone because Billy would want it that way. I never said he was buried in a church in MO. and I never said he would want it that way. You must not know how to read and comprehend English. 10 to 1 your a damn blond.) So I would go back to High Sclool or take a GED. You might give a try at grammer too. You have alongway to go on comprehending Engish. |

The beauty (and ugliness) of this country is that anybody, no matter how antagonistic, can say whatever they want in a public forum. This is a public forum, and I'll refrain from "pushing the button" to remove people's comments, no matter how personally offensive I might find them.
"I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the last breath your right to say it." That's a paraphrased quote, and I'm ashamed I don't know who said it, but it perfectly sums up my feeling on this (or any) debate. I do respectfully ask that we keep it clean (it's a family newspaper) but I won't delete people willy-nilly because other posters so vehemently disagree with someone else. And now for my two cents – Billy The Kid has been dead for at least 50-100 years, depending on what you believe. His problems are over, what does it matter where he's really buried? Let's talk about problems affecting us today, in the here and now. I also believe immigrants who enter this country legally are perfectly fine, illegals aren't. Having said that, illegals should be treated as sub-human. They're coming here because Mexico isn't the best place to live if you're poor. They're coming here illegally because the immigration service here is taxed to the limit. They just want a better life. Don't take it out on the immigrants, take it out on the immigration officials and officials in Mexico who have made life so unbearable for these people in the first place. |

Dammit! In that last paragraph, I meant to say illegals SHOULDN'T....SHOULD NOT.. be treated as sub-human. Man, two little characters and the tone of the entire post changes. Sorry for any confusion.

There, big guy, I killed all of Family's posts. Of course, that won't keep him from posting more, but I find it interesting that I was actually defending his right to say what he wanted, and then challenged me do kill his posts anyway. Talk about a persecution complex. Post whatever you want, Family, I'm moving on to more important things.

keep your stories off the lordsburg forum. I just killed your story so my readers don't have to deal with your lies. http://www.topix.com/city/lordsburg-nm/2008/0... I will also go through my editor and contact topix. You have violated my constitutional right to freedom of speech.( by removing my post from our forum. I have saved every post from the lordsburg forum under the topic BTK Byway Center teams up with state tourism department - Ruidoso News from the cache file. Please remove your story from BTK Byway Center teams up with state tourism department - Ruidoso News forum at once. thank you very much. |

Toadfox, even though you made a typo in saying illegals should be treated as sub-human, apparently family saw it, thought his work here was done, and left. If he comes back lets tell him that we believe "Billy" is buried in the basement and we hate Mexicans. He will than go to a different blog to preach his message. |
|
Nice try. All I want is for you all to get this stupid lie of a story off our Lordsburg forum. A little slow there Rae, Dial up sucks right. |

"You have violated my constitutional right to freedom of speech."
Ridiculous. You have no constitutional Freedom of Speech on a privately-owned internet forum. You're a better storyteller than lawyer... |
