Construction leads to road name change
When a portion of the new Highway 10 opens in the next few weeks, drivers in the Wisconsin Rapids area will have some adjustments to make.

Highway name changes scheduled in Portage and Wood counties
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is planning to make several changes to some highway names in Portage and Wood counties following the opening of the new US 10 alignment between WIS 34 north and I-39. The new alignment is currently scheduled to open by July 2009.
At 3 a.m. April 18, a stolen vehicle hit a tree and then a utility pole after overturning and leaving the roadway while traveling south on Highway S just north of Paradise Road.
