Wilson, Storey win Register of Deeds races
Annie F. Wilson, a veteran employee of the Bertie County Register of Deeds office, won election to succeed Belinda White as the top person in the office.
Polls open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m. for those living in municipalities to cast their ballots.
Rodney Lassiter, Jesse Karl Williams Jr. and Kyra Nicole Gilliam each face drug-related charges following arrests by the Bertie County Sheriff's Office.
There is good news for people in the northern corners of Bertie County. Monday morning, the North Carolina Department of Transportation presented its Secondary Roads Construction program to the Bertie County Commissioners.
Filing for municipal offices has ended in the Roanoke-Chowan region. Despite that fact, there will be a number of blank lines on the November ballot as many incumbents chose not to seek reelection.
