Roswell man arrested in double murder

Kissing outside the trailer? I wonder what he would have done had he caught them in bed? Oh my bad......he already did the worst. May they both rest in peace, and sounds like a real Romeo and Juliet story..........now forever that kiss will remain! Forever!!!!! Tell that to Aaron!!! Forever!!!!

Another act of savagery that will not result in the ultimate justice, namely death. This bastard should barbecue on a stake for this infraction.

Seriously, folks, how much more of this are we supposed to tolerate?

I know this man's mother and she is a very dear friend of mine. I also went to school with his brother (who is serving in the Army). It's so shocking to hear about Aaron...he served in Iraq and all the while the mother of his child was fooling around on him behind his back?! Oh Aaron, I pray for you, your poor mother, your son, your brother whom is near and dear to my heart, and the victims...honey you should have just let her go.

One can only wonder if we should fear his military past,or the .44 mag he used to exact his revenge?

Maybe Aaron didn't want his son raised by a woman who "ran around" and especially by the sexual predator (alleged or convicted?) she was kissing at 2:45 in the night when she and Aaron were "working out" their relationship. There's more than is reported on this story. Don't judge.

I hate to say it but had she been home with her child then this probably wouldn't have happened. She had no business being out while her boyfriend was home with the baby!!

Just curious, but what stake do you have in NM? Do you/did you live here or do you have some strange fixation with this state? Your comments always seem to allude that the negative situations that occur here are somehow unique to our state. Let me tell you something, hopefully you already realize this, but "savagery" is nothing new in this world, so singling out NM and border communities as the Mecca of violence and savagery, as you put it, seems a little misplaced to me.

About two years ago, I was in Baltimore for a week and something like 7 or 8 murders occurred during the time I was there, setting a 10 year record for the city. This happens all over the world ALL the time and I know NM doesn't even come close to the savagery of other places in the world.

Well lucky for us roswell residents all but one murderers are already behind bars! And I don't think that there was anything that the RPD could've done to prevent the double homicide that happened?

I actually agree with you. The level of barbarism in cities in general, but especially the older, eastern cities is astonishing. However, what is notable about these areas is the adjacent suburban areas are superior to anything in the southwest. For instance, you'll not find a community of quality such as Glen Burnie, which is adjacent to Baltimore, anywhere near New Mexico, or Arizona.

The obvious answer is that high minority populations and poverty are largely contained to the cities in the northeast and the midwest. The suburbs of these areas, however, are very desirable, and the inhabitants are denizens of hard work ethic. You'll find none of that in Roswell, Carlsbad, surrounding Albuquerque, or Las Cruces. You can't find these people or places anywhere in NM. Maybe, maybe some areas of Rio Rancho. That's about it.

Mark is my best friend. My oldest friend. My closest friend. I have known him since we were little kids. It sad that people choose to put there input towards a situation and persons they know nothing about. Mark was one of the most wonderful, awesome, and by far the best person I have ever known. You should be ashamed of yourself for putting down someone who you KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!!! I love him. I miss him. The two will be missed and loved forever. Everyone who loves him will hold wonderful memories and will view him as he was a good friend, son, brother, father, and most of all a wonderful person. And none of you ignorent people can ever sway or change our love and thoughts of him.

Sounds to me like you are the one who has already "JUDGED". Wouldn't it be nice if everyone had their dirty laundry aired after they were viciously murdered. Wouldn't "you" love it, or do you not have any skeletons in your closet? Do we get to hear about yours? Nobody deserves to be murdered, no matter what they do. I cant believe you are justifiying MURDER for any of these reasons. Weather she was a faithful person or not doesnt matter. Are you saying that she deserved to die? That ANYONE deserves to die under these circumstances. WOW, that is incredibly immature and nieve. And the statement about the sexual predator, Maybe you should be the one to check the facts before opening your mouth and labeling someone. It's people like you that cause the world to be a cold, dark and vengeful place. May God have kindness when he looks into your heart. My heart goes out to ALL the families that are and will be affected by this tragedy. If they werent murdered, it would just be another story of oh she cheated, or something that happens everyday in life. Instead it's a story about blood, death and tragedy for both sides.

I'm sorry for the loss of your best friend I can't imagine losing one of mine. He truly was a victim here and he may have not even known she had a boyfriend. Honestly if I were you... I wouldn't even read this forum for this topic. I'm sure there will be more cruel comments coming and its something you really don't need to deal with in your moment of grief!

Well said! I'm very good friends with Aaron, and agree strongly with the sentiments above that there's more to the story. More importantly, all the out-of-state comments about gun laws make me laugh. You're right about RPD, they're a joke--look at Charlie Corn. That fact is the reason firearms are so valuable to the average citizen. A firearm is a system of springs and machined metal: it's no more inherently dangerous than your mattress. The firearm is a tool. There is no moral value in a tool: it can be neither good nor bad. If the person behind it is troubled, or the person behind it acts rashly, then the person behind it has misused the tool. The situation is no different than a stabbing, a beating, asphyxiation, poisoning, etc.
With regards to the people that didn't know Aaron but who wanted to let him know their opinions about capital punishment, my sentiments are simple. He was in a position of high anomie, and his normal personality was nothing like that. When the police found him in his car, he was on his way to give his son to his mother and turn himself in. Val had a history of doing what was going on, and Mark had a history of touching children. Crimes of passion don't settle to reason or humanity--they are the result of sudden emotion. They are the single flaw in a personality, the one slip of reason in 23 years of life that damn the next 30 years of life.
Shame on you all for your judgments, for your accusations without knowing the personality. It's terrible that two folks died, but your thirst for a third's blood casts light on the tenebrous shadows of your own sociopathic tendencies. Your misguided beliefs about firearms I can understand are the result of poor education or upbringing. I don't hold that against you, but I and the rest of the firearm-owning, law-abiding, kind-hearted citizens of this state and nation would kindly appreciate your silence in matters that don't concern you. If you don't want a gun, don't have a gun.
Yelling that guns cause murder and should be banned is akin to yelling that gays cause AIDS and should be deported.

This is my brother Mark and my friend Valerie who was killed. I knew Aaron, but just barely. I hate that some of you are so judgmental when you don't know any of the three people involved in this tragedy. You don't know the whole story, you only read what the press decides to print. Jessica, My brothers best friend---thank you for sticking up for him! He was NOT a bad guy. Val was not the whore that you all are making her out to be. It was a crime of passion, but nobody on here has ever been in this situation, I'm sure. So judge who you want but you don't know them. i served with aaron in iraq. he was my gunner. i know val and its my belief that you would have to have been there, known the whole story before u should pass judgement. no one in this blog does so lets agree that the incident was horrible and that in time some sort of punishment will be inflicted. aaron is not a monster, none of the people involved were. name calling and speculation will not help the matter. one last thing.... its not guns that kill people... its the person pulling the trigger that does... if you dont believe me ask a soldier.
