Rain Does Not Stop the Discover Roselle Park Day Activities

Many events were either moved around or changed to Sunday, but the community still enjoyed the weekend. Due to the rainy weather on Saturday, the car show on Chestnut Street was held on Sunday near the gazebo.

TRENTON - With a surge of developmental disabled residents moving into community homes, an Assembly panel has approved a bill that will increase the demands on group-home operators to report and respond to accusations of abuse and neglect, and give the state more authority to prevent and investigate incidents of mistreatment.

103-year-old Roselle bridge slated for repairs

Truck comes off the Gordon Street at West First Avenue in Roselle. Union County officials are expected this week to award a contract for engineers to design plans for replacing the 103-year-old span.

Farmer's Market Extended Till Thanksgiving Week

The governing body approved the extending of the Roselle Park Farmer's Market until November 26th, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Usually, the Farmer's Market runs until the last week in October but due to both the late start in the season because of the late winter and the popularity of new vendors, including El Lechon De Negron, the program has been extended for another month.

D'Agostino Lawsuit Still Not Settled 11 Months After Court Signs Off

A month short of a year after a Union County Superior Court Judge signed off on Docket UNN-L-001903-10, effectively closing the case, and a copy of a handwritten agreement submitted to the courts, the case of D'Agostino vs. Roselle Park has not been resolved by the municipality's governing body. The lawsuit was brought against the municipality in 2010 and specifically names current Roselle Park Mayor Joseph Accardi, Borough Clerk Doreen Cali, Borough Code Enforcement Officer Carl Plucchino, former Councilman Modesto Miranda, and former DPW Superintendent Vince Cahill.

Roselle Park's governing body introduced an ordinance to establish an 'a la carte' bulk pickup service at the August 21st Mayor & Council meeting. Ordinance 2414 will set a fee schedule for 11 eleven items - with two of them - furniture and windows - having separate fees for sub-types.
