Nicholas Svercel of Ronkonkoma was crossing Route 347 northbound at Terry Road at 4 p.m., police said, when he was struck by a westbound 1999 Mazda driven by Alex Helkin, 25, of Farmingdale .

Collins, 42, of Patchogue on November 3 and charged them with grand larceny in the third degree and burglary in the third degree, both felonies, in relation to the theft of copper wiring valued at $5,250 from Sag Harbor Industries on Bay Street.
