What was the problem..

Nothing to do.....same ole thing year after year. The only draw is the Rubber ducky race.

exactly theres no music during the day, or evening sounds as if everyone is a sleep.how many times can you look at the same ole tractors or cars, no entertainment, really just a waste of time to even go anymore. food vendors prices are ridiculasly high. and ride area has no music to even get you into the mood of having a good time its just a money hungry event...

out of curiosity, in the last 20 or so years that the festival has been going on, is there anything that you enjoyed about it?
Like anything else, new blood brings new ideas. Maybe you should join the committee and suggest new ideas to get you in the mood to have a good time.

What do you do join the committee. Maybe you should have a stack race for the kids. Need to think of something for these kids to do, Beside watching tv. What if in the evening you had battle of the bands. Just local talent.

I remember one year they had various different water events...the one I thought was cute was "anything that floats is a boat". my kids thought that was a funny race.
I'm really not sure how you join the committee, but I know a few of them that you could ask.
Marty Smith, Jane Morgan, Keith Morgan, & Freddie Hodges. Anyone of those guys could probably tell you how.

I'd have to say back in 1997 was prob the best I seen on the Island, had live entertainment, had the tent with arcade games, had much better food vendors had the logger event the horse tractor pull had music playing had horse back rides along the river, since then its gone down hill...
