Two men charged with growing marijuana
State police say they arrested two men after discovering a marijuana-growing operation in the basement of a home near Dover. Police said they went to the home in the 1500 block of John Clark Drive in the Rodney Village neighborhood to investigate the theft of several televisions from the employer of a resident, Raymond T. Giordano Jr., 41, who was a suspect in the theft. The televisions were stolen from the Rent-A-Center in the 1600 block of S. Governors Ave. in Dover. During a search for the televisions, Hale said, troopers discovered lights, chemicals and about 1945 grams of marijuana. Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale said after discovering the marijuana troopers learned Giordano was renting the home from David J. Prouse, 49, of the 900 block of Lochmeath Way near Camden. Hale said police found more than 12 grams of marijuana and $3,300 in suspected drug money at Prouse’s home. Giordano was charged with manufacturing marijuana, conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana, theft, selling stolen property and falsifying business records. He was released on $9,500 unsecured bail. Prouse was charged with manufacturing marijuana, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
