The code enforcement office and officers in Home gardens are a joke, they are totally worthless. Our strrets are full of junk cars, trucks, van and trailors that have been sitting there for months, if not years. The code enforcement officers drive by these eye sores on a daily basis but fail to do their jobs and enforce the codes. They don't care because they don't live here. The county should only hire code enforcement officers from the immediate area that they work and patrol so they'll have some pride in our community. Riverside County opened the Home Gardens Code Enforcement Office and bought new vehicles so the Code Enforcement officers could be proactive but they think the vehicles(SUVs...like there's a need for SUVs in Home Gardens)are just for transportation between work and their homes. I've lived here many years and we all know a person can convert their garages(with no building permits) into living quarters, put additions on their homes and then rent out the property like it's an apartment complex and nothing is done even though the homes are designated single family dwellings. There's little or no enforcement of the building codes and laws in Home Gardens nor has there ever been.Little or no enforcement of our laws and codes is in all aspects of our governments whether it be city, county, state or nation. But that's the trend in our country today...too many worthless politicians and government employees that do nothing but steal our tax dollars by not doing their jobs. They think we work for them instead of them working for us. But sooner or later the taxpayer are going to say enough is enough.
Then you top it off this idiot PE writer who wrote the article for the paper thinks the Code Enforcement Officers are doing a good job. It seems as if he/she was trained by a worthless government employee or he/she is looking for work for a relative. This is one of the worse articles I ever read, it smack of poor investigative skills and of a writer writing about something they nothing about. All Leslie would had to do was drive the streets of our neighborhood and that person would know her article is untruthful and it sucks.
