A former Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent has admitted in federal court that she illegally leaked classified documents and other sensitive information to relatives involved with drug trafficking organizations in Mexico.

The U.S. Attorney for Arizona says a Nogales-based federal agent has entered a guilty plea to obstruction of justice and other federal violations.

Picking her way into the desert brush, Raquel Martinez gathered scores of plastic water bottles tossed in an Arizona desert valley near the Mexico border, often by migrants making a risky trek into the United States across increasingly remote terrain.
