Has the race of the perps and the victim even been revealed? And yes, in this context it does matter. Anyone who says it doesn't is a clown. It certainly matters how the story will be run in the media. IF the victim is a minority and the perps were white, it will be constant 24/7 coverage for a week and then a long week follow-up at the end of the year and then talked about for years to come and used as an example of oppression of minorities by whites. IF the victim is white and the perps minorities, the story will die quickly and NEVER be brought up again in the mainstream media. There are times when the crime transends race and this is that time. Regardless of the race of the participants or bystanders this is a horrific barbaric attack that will not go away. I watched the news and as a mother, I am so pissed off that no one helped this innocent victim.
Regarding Race, whatever happened to being human and treating people with respect regardless of race. This is not a white / Latino issue. These young thugs do not have parents to keep their asses in check and ended up committing this heinous crime.
I pray for the girl's health and her family. She has a lot to deal with and only being 15 years old, it is not going to be easy.

I seriously doubt the people passing by would have let this go on as long as it did if she was mexican or brown skinned. I don't know, just a guess. Every single crime should be filed to the maximum upon these low life ghetto scum with maximum prison time. Lock every single one of them for the rest of their miserable lives.
Also, some day these prisons are going to have to be cleaned up and out. The prison population and the cost to maintain is out of control. Citizens should not be forced to pay to house these violent, mostly illegal or their descendent scum, even if it does 'create' jobs.

How do you know they were all mexican? There could have been different races involved. This was a terrible act I agree but just as some have said it falls on the way they were raised and so on. They should be punished to the extent but to say that latinos and mexicans are ruining this country and dont belong here is being racist as well. As for this country being and belonging to european people, thats total bullshit. This country was first inhabited by indians and was run over by europeans. California was once part of Mexico.
