It could be a tornado that turns homes into splinters. Or an earthquake or another flood, a blizzard or - heaven forbid - a paralyzing ice storm.

Henderson County Officials were out Thursday, looking into a complaint on the care of dozens of horses and animal control says this isn't the first time they've been out to this Reed, Kentucky farm.

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office charged Justin R. Pardue, 29, 16000 section of U.S. 60-East in Reed, with first-degree fleeing/evading police in a motor vehicle, driving under the influence , failure of owner to maintain insurance, no registration and no registration receipt.

A two-vehicle accident on U.S. 60-East in the Reed area sent eight people - including five juveniles - to two area hospitals and shut down the roadway for roughly two hours late Saturday afternoon.

A Powell County man was charged Friday with one count of attempted murder after a Thursday night shooting in which his son was wounded five times, a deputy sheriff said.
