It's typical of the federal government to waste money on such unasked for arrests while the forest fires burm merrily away. I picture a DEA agent raiding a pot farm whyile the lightning fires burn down the forests behind him. this is why federal government needs to stay the hell out of people's personal rights. I don't see them bothering any other "illegal" farmers in this county

This intervention had to happen. When the minor leagues of law enforcement turn a blind eye or cry budget restraints to out of control pot growing the major leagues have to step in and show them how it's done. The state and feds have done this leagally with warrants. Now the hammer is going to fall on those responsible, and when it does I'm sure we'll know a name or two.

face it, the cops came and COULDNT find any pot plants. in Humboldt County!!!!!! millions of stinky, sticky plants are growing right under the feds' noses.........

this operation has turned out to be a joke. not one big bust? just a bunch of 215 growers? has their been ONE bust where it hasnt been a 215 grower in this whole operation? i cant find any evidence of any non-215 grows being busted.

#12,
not ONE big bust, just a bunch of small 215 growers!!!!!

at least the feds were able to raise the price of pot while they were here with their little PORTA POTTIES!!!!!

if they are afraid to pee in the woods, how can they hike to get the plants? what a joke!!!!

How about respecting California's Prop 215, and going after the methamphetamine labs instead? It's been reported there are as many as 50 meth labs near the mouth of the Klamath River, yet law enforcement never takes any action there. Why doesn't the Times-Standard report on the dozens of meth labs along the Klamath River and the Klamath National Forest? Here's some more info for you:

http://goodneighborlaw.com/articles_GNL/2007/...

Excerpts:

Two persons interviewed claimed there are five meth labs between Weitchpec and the river mouth. One of the labs is known to both civilian and law enforcement as the "Crystal Palace." When asked, one Siskiyou County law enforcement official said, "If the truth were know, there are probably 50 labs." ... The entire 41 miles of river between Weitchpec and the river mouth has no roads and is completely isolated from any civilization.

There are dozens of documented cases of Mexican and Asian drug cartels using remote areas to both grow marijuana, and manufacture meth. These cases include the Klamath River area. This has resulted in concerns for the safety of all users; either national forests and/or Bureau of Land Management lands or those who simply explore for recreation.
