The retirement of longtime incumbent Smokey Davis assures a new face from District 3 - most of the town of Lexington and surrounding area - on the nine-member council that oversees services and sets policy for the county.

I have lived in the Red Bank area for many years. There has been an influx of business, and S.C. 6 and Platt Springs Road have been widened to accommodate the increase in traffic and people moving to the area.
