An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper was struck by a vehicle Thursday morning while directing traffic on Ohio 7 in preparation for Vice President Joe Biden's arrival in Martins Ferry.

Work could begin as early as next month on the repaving of several neighborhood streets, after construction bids were opened Tuesday by the city's board of control.
