Quechee Teens Accused in Graffiti Spree

Two teenagers are accused of a graffiti spree in Lebanon, N.H. Police say Nicholas Tessier and Matthew Tripp, both 18, and of Quechee, Vt., tagged several buildings and other places around the city with spray paint back in May.

As an art teacher I question the ethics involved in graffiti. To most it is clear cut. Graffiti is vandalism. I agree. But to some teenagers there is a prevalent philosophy that graffiti is art and a "freedom of speech issue". Are we teaching our kids enough about ethics?
