Man, 34, rescinds appeal of sentence
A former Quakertown man serving prison time for murder has decided 10 to 20 years behind bars may not be too bad after all.
But he's not all that happy about what's happening to his credit rating.
Robin D. Dice, serving 10 to 20 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of former girlfriend, Colleen O'Connell, decided Thursday to back off his appeal for a lighter sentence when he found out the move could wind up costing him a life sentence.
''The gamble is too much,'' Dice, 34, told Judge Albert J. Cepparulo from a state prison in Forest County during a video teleconference at Bucks County Courthouse.

OMG He killed someone whether on accident or purpose and he worried about credit ... What about the girl he left motherless when does she get support He should be made to get her a unlimited line of credit and be made to pay for everything the child needs or wants.

Turns out I knew this guy, and let me say that while his head may not seem to be in the right place, it wasn't when he went on that rampage either.
This should have been ruled a crime of passion if anything at all.
I forget whether or not they had already been Married/divorced, but I believe the 10 year old daughter is his, and there is probably no pain worse than watching another man take your place in a family in which you're still trying to support. I say trying because at the time this happened Rob was working 2 jobs. At least, that is, I'm pretty sure....
Another thing I do know is Rob was a little on the edgy side when it came to his personality...but to me he didn't seem violent at all in the time that I knew him. He loved heavy music, but I never heard him talk in an aggressive manner, let alone as to act in one. I had the feeling he could handle himself, if need be, but I never once felt threatened being around him.
It doesn't say how the fight started, but I doubt Rob to be the antagonist. I've heard things about this Shawn Fritz guy, none of which I'll say,(I don't want a slander lawsuit) and I'm not going to speculate. It could have happened either way. In either case, someone said something out of line, and when pain comes bubbling to the surface some people can't control it.
No one should ever be driven to murder. But if people didn't break hearts on a whim I doubt it would happen like this.
